Soft Sink

A soft sink is a cryptoeconomic mechanism that reduces the liquid supply of a cryptoasset.

Technically any sink that is not permanent is a soft sink (see: 'hard sink'), although the degree of 'softness' can differ significantly from days to years. Examples of soft sinks include staking and smart contract-enforced time-locked liquidity pooling.
